Mountain Horse is based in the beautiful village of Vallda in Sweden, where winter means cold, wet and dark weather – not the occasional chilly morning that sends the rest of us looking for an extra fleece.
That climate has shaped the brand. The Autumn/Winter collection is practical, comfortable, warm and designed to cope with long days at the yard. These are clothes and boots made by people who understand that riders need to stay warm and dry, move freely and get on with the job.
Mountain Horse has been a family business since 1988. Founder Bertil still lives in Vallda, while his son Lars now runs the company – alongside indulging his passion for gardening. The company is also a much-loved local employer, and the brand is adored across Europe.
The designs are hardwearing, long-lasting and developed around what riders actually need. Mountain Horse also places a strong emphasis on sustainability, responsible sourcing and animal welfare throughout its production.
