Karen & Dave Jones, KC Riders of the Month for September

Hi!  We are Karen & Dave Jones, dressage enthusiasts husband and wife.

I’ve ridden most of my life but Dave only took up horse riding in his 40’s!  We were always happy hackers but decided to “have a go at a bit of dressage” after our daughter who was a keen show jumper, left home for university giving up horses completely and leaving us with a lorry and a horse to ride! 

We’ve trained with Clare for as long as I can remember and were so excited when she and Karen set up K C Dressage academy.  We attend as many of their events as we can including test riding clinics and training but our absolute favourite without doubt has to be their incredible camps!  The camps are full of fun, socializing, fantastic training and the most amazing food!  We’ve met so many new friends, learnt so much, developed confidence and overall just had the very very best time!

With the help, support and incredible training we’ve both moved up the levels with Dave himself having progressed to advance medium on his Irish Draft former hunting horse! 

We are so lucky in our part of the Country to have access to these amazing opportunities and cannot thank Clare and Karen enough for all that they do by putting these events on for us all.
